Bedroom Fire Narrowly Contained, Thanks to Mum’s Quick Response

“Swift Mother’s Actions Prevent Full House Fire: Firefighters Commend Quick Response in Metford Incident

In the early hours today, Fire and Rescue NSW Station 373 East Maitland rushed to a house fire in Metford. Thanks to the prompt activation of smoke alarms, a mother efficiently evacuated two children, swiftly closed the bedroom door on fire, and dialed 000.

Gratefully, the decisive actions of the mother allowed the fire attack crew to contain and extinguish the bedroom fire, preventing it from spreading throughout the entire house. Special thanks to Fire and Rescue NSW Station 454 Tarro and Fire and Rescue NSW Station 382 Morpeth crews for their support.

The family safely waited outside, and the incident underscores the importance of quick thinking in emergencies. Fire and Rescue NSW Greater Hunter Region Command MN3 reports on the successful intervention.”
