BOIL WATER ALERT – BROKE

BROKE WATER MAIN REPAIRS

Temporary repairs have been made to the broken water pipelines to Broke, and today Council crews will commence charging of these lines.

Please note that all water supplied to Broke may be contaminated and a Boil Water Alert applies until further notice. Residents are advised that water is unsafe to drink and should follow the advice of NSW Health ➡️ https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/environment/water/Pages/bwa-what-to-do.aspx

Council will need to flush the mains to remove contamination until water quality is within acceptable limits. Therefore, you may see portable standpipes discharging water from the system around the town. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by these activities. Further the water may have higher than normal chlorine levels during this period.

It is also likely that additional breaks or damages may be uncovered during this process, both in the street system and in your property.

Please contact Council by phone immediately if you identify any leaks or damage to the water system so we can address this on T 02 6578 7290.

This supply is temporary and permanent repairs will be undertaken in the future. Your property may experience reduced pressures until permanent repairs are completed.
