Crash in Port Stephens Sparks Police Appeal

In a recent development, authorities are seeking public assistance in the aftermath of a collision at Port Stephens yesterday.

Around 5:30 pm on Monday, March 4th, 2024, emergency services responded to reports of a single-vehicle accident on Nelson Bay Road, Salt Ash.

According to reports, a Holden Commodore traveling southbound on Nelson Bay Road lost control, veered across the median strip, and collided with an embankment and trees before coming to a halt.

The driver, identified as a 17-year-old male, sustained minor injuries, while his 19-year-old male passenger suffered leg injuries. Both individuals received medical attention from paramedics before being transported to John Hunter Hospital for further treatment.

At the scene, authorities from the Port Stephens Hunter Police District established a crime scene, which was meticulously examined by specialists from the Crash Investigation unit.
