Dan Rapacholi has doubled down on claims that Labor will raise the minimum wage to match inflation.

Labors Candidate for the Hunter Dan Rapacholi has doubled down on claims that Labor will raise the minimum wage to match inflation which is currently sitting around 5%.

This promise is just a dirty trick praying on the most vulnerable voters, who think if they vote labor they will get a 5% pay rise, which is about $1 per hour, or $38 per week based on a 38 hour week.

Dan took to Facebook to tell his followers another lie with a nice photoshoped Billboard.

This is Scott Morrison’s latest scare campaign.

We will raise the minimum wage to match inflation.

Scott Morrison will not. The choice is yours

Dan Rapacholi

The problem with this claim is, the Government does not set the minimum wage for the public sector, The Fair Work Commission does which is the independent national workplace relations tribunal. It is responsible for maintaining a safety net of minimum wages and employment conditions, as well as a range of other workplace functions and regulation.

Once a Government interferes with an independent body its loses all credibility.

Dan Rapacholi and his Labor mates must explain to the voters immediately how they plan to influence an independent body. Are they going to bribe the commission or threaten the commission to raise wages?

This promise is fraudulent at best and if they do succeed raise the minimum wage the only thing we can promise is Dan Rapacholi’s next hamburger will cost 5% more.
