Drink driver caught twice in two hours

A woman will face court next month charged with mid-range drink driving after being caught behind the wheel twice in one day.

About 12.10pm yesterday (Wednesday 6 April 2022), officers attached to Lake Macquarie Traffic & Highway were patrolling the Morisset area when they stopped a Mazda along Marconi Road.

Police spoke with the driver – a 44-year-old woman – before she was subjected to a roadside breath test, returning a positive result.

She was arrested and taken to Morisset Police Station where she underwent a breath analysis, which allegedly returned a reading of 0.129.

The woman was issued with a court attendance notice for the offence of mid-range PCA and her licence was suspended.

About 2.15pm later that day, police observed the same Mazda driving west along Marconi Road.

Police stopped the vehicle and spoke with the 44-year-old female driver, who had a 10-year-old girl in the car at the time.

The woman was subjected to a roadside breath test, returning a positive result.

She was arrested for a second time and taken to Toronto Police Station to undergo a breath analysis, which allegedly returned a reading of 0.121.

The woman was charged with mid-range PCA and drive whilst licence suspended.

She was granted conditional bail to appear at Toronto Local Court on Monday 16 May 2022
