FITZGIBBION: NET ZERO TO BECOME UNIVERSAL POLICY ACROSS THE WORLD

Joel Fitzgibbion is continuing to tow the party line and promoting Labors climate change agenda, including the net zero emissions by 2050.

Joel Fitzgibbion told 2CC Stephen Cenatiempo that net zero emissions by 2050 will become universal policy by governments across the world.

Look, I think the significant thing about net zero emissions by 2050, Stephen, is that it’s becoming almost universal. Governments across the world, all of our state governments here in Australia, most of our big companies, and even our farm leadership groups and the like, are all now backing zero net emissions

Fitzgibbion also slammed the ANZ bank after their recent decision to walk away from investing in the Newcastle Port because of woke shareholder activism, whilst the NAB has stepped up for now.

The Newcastle Port is already 50 per cent Chinese owned and if the NAB walks away the there is a risk that the Newcastle Port will become entirely owned by the Chinese.

However, if our major banks are going to start walking away from important and profitable businesses like this, then more than likely when companies like this go looking for finance elsewhere, they’re going to find that inflow, that capital inflow coming from countries like China.

Joel says the secret to achieving net zero by 2050 is with a political consensus. Unfortunately for Joel the Nationals and One Nation will never support net zero by 2050 because of the destruction of Jobs in regional Australia. Labor might get the Support of the Morrison government as the Biden administration puts pressure on Morrison to adopt climate change policies.

According to the climate council, they only way to achieve net zero is to rapidly move away from fossil fuels such as Coal and Gas. This will have devastating consequences for the Hunter Region.

What is Labors plan when the mining jobs dry up in the Hunter not because there is no coal to mine, but because we can’t put back enough green house gases fast enough?
