Fitzgibbon can’t afford to wait as One Nation’s Stuart Bonds looks to take key seat.

Joel Fitzgibbon finds himself between a hard place and a rock as the Labor party continues to push the far lefts climate agenda and is committed to net zero emissions by 2050 which will effectively bring the coal industry to its knees along with the entire Hunter region.

Mr Fitzgibbon has recently resigned from labors front bench trying to distance himself from labor’s climate policy which has Labor on the nose around the Hunter.

Mr Fitzgibbon has two options available to him and the first option is to challenge for the leadership which is the most likely option and he has also recently come up with his own catchy slogan “putting the Labour back in labor.”

Unfortunately, Kevin Rudd’s parting gift to Labor in 2013 was a set of rules designed to stop the constant leadership challenge, which just might make it impossible to remove Anthony Albanese.

The second option which is a risky option is to sit back and watch Labor get anilnalated at the next election, but Mr Fitzgibbon runs the real risk of losing the once safe seat of Hunter to One Nations Stuart Bonds as Labor continues to move away from its traditional values and voters.

Recent polling has shown that support for One Nation is increasing across the Hunter including a small poll we ran with our audience at MHV NEWS which 54% of people voted One Nation as the preferred party in the Hunter with only 22% said they preferred Labor.

Labor has held the seat of Hunter since 1910 and in the 2019 federal election, Fitzgibbon suffered a 9.5-point swing against him in his electorate and this result should have been a wake call for the Labor Party.

The Labor party lead by Anthony Albanese has not only continued to push extreme climate policy, but has accelerated the far left climate agenda which has lead to rapid rise of One Nation in the Hunter.
