Emergency Services responded to Heaton lookout around midday yesterday after receiving calls in regards to an elderly man who was suffering from a medical emergency on an isolated section of the walking track.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was quickly deployed with a specialist team who were winched down to man.
The Critical Care Team were able to stabilize the man, who was then flown to John Hunter Hospital for further treatment.
