Hunter Valley What’s On, What’s Cancelled

HUNTER EVENTS UPDATE:

The Prime Minister announced yesterday that non-essential, organised, gatherings of more than 500 people will be advised against from MONDAY in order to control the spread of COVID-19.

Hunter health officials say the response to containing the coronavirus has so far been proportionate and effective, with the risk of the virus spreading in Newcastle and the Hunter still relatively low.

Some events across the Hunter have been cancelled by organisers ahead of Monday’s ban while some will still go ahead this weekend.

✔️The Newcastle Knights game today will go ahead today, with all games in round 2 to be played behind closed gates.

✔️Hunter Valley Wine Machine concert to go ahead today.

❌Northern NSW Football have postponed WPL matches between Broadmeadow Magic and Thornton Redbacks because a Broadmeadow Magic player is unwell and is waiting on results of a COVID–19 test.

❌Cinema Under the Stars planned for King Edward Park tonight has been cancelled.

❌The Maitland Taste Festival has been cancelled

❌The Newy ParkRun has also been cancelled until further notice.

❌The Newcastle Writers Festival, set to be held next month, have made the decision to call off the event given the current government advice about coronavirus.
