Late yesterday the Westpac Rescue helicopter responded to a motorcycle side car crash at the Lake Liddell speedway.
The rider was a middle aged man who suffered horrendous lower leg injuries.
Paramedics treated the man at scene before the critcal care team arrived by air, the team than flew the patient to the John Hunter Hospital for further treatment.
