Newcastle Woman Charged With Skyes Law Was Disqualified From Driving Till 2034

Around 1pm on Tuesday the 5th of November a Newcastle Woman who had been disqualified form driving for 15 years previously has lead police on a dangerous pursuit after police observed the driver disobey a left turn sign only.

The pursuite was called off due to public safety as the driver increased speed and faild to stop.

At round 1:19pm the vechile ran a red light on Carnley Avenue Near Charlestown colliding with another vechile, the impact of the collision caused 2 more vechiles to be involved.

The driver of the vehicle and her passenger fled the scence on foot without rendering assistance. Two people injuried including an 11 month old baby who was taken to hospital.

Police commenced investgations and identified the driver of the vechile and was arrested on 21th November.

The female driver has been charged with the following

  • Skyes Law
  • Negligent Driving
  • Not giving particulars to other drivers
  • Larency ( unrelated charged )
  • Drive vechile whilst disqualified

The woman was on patrol at the time and was refused bail, and will face Newcastle court again on the 5th December.
