NO CASES IN THE HUNTER AS 1 MAN DIES IN SYDNEY

A man in his eighties has sadly passed away in NSW after contracting Coronavirus in a Sydney hospital bringing the total number of deaths in Australia to 3 people.

Dr Kerry Chant, Chief Health Officer passed on the sympathies of NSW Health to the family of the patient, a man in his 80s, who died in hospital and had tested positive to COVID-19.

An additional two cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed this morning, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in NSW to 38.

The new cases are:
• A female health care worker at Ryde Hospital in her 30s who is a contact of a previously confirmed case from an aged care facility.
• A female in her 50s who is a contact of a previously confirmed case.

The total number of cases in the Hunter Region remains at 0.
