Pacific Highway Closed Due to Backburning Operation

News Update: Pacific Highway Backburning Operation

Emergency crews have initiated a backburning operation along the northbound lanes of the Pacific Highway in Karuah (Port Stephens LGA). Due to safety concerns for both firefighters and motorists, the northbound lanes are temporarily closed.

To manage traffic flow, police and the Traffic Management Center (TMC) have implemented a Contra-flow system. Commuters in the vicinity should anticipate delays, as these traffic arrangements are expected to remain in effect overnight.

With tomorrow’s forecast predicting hot and dry conditions, residents and travelers in the area are urged to stay vigilant and stay informed about the situation. It is essential to have contingency plans in place in case of any sudden changes. Stay tuned for further updates on this developing situation.
