At approximately 5:06pm emergency services were activated after reports of persons trapped after a two vehicle crash at Ellalong between a utility and a truck towing a trailer collided on Sanctuary Road approximately 14km from Cessnock.

A spokesperson from Cessnock District Rescue Squad said “when arriving on scene our volunteers were notified that the persons in utility were not trapped and were being treated by medical personnel.
The occupant of the truck was still in the vehicle trapped by confinement.

Our battery operated hydraulic cutters and spreaders were utilised to cut and fold the roof of the truck down so the the casualty was accessible.
The team from NSW Ambulance treated the casualty to a point where they were happy for them to be extricated from the vehicle.”

The person was than taken to Hospital via ambulance it’s unclear at this stage what injuries were sustained.
