Search continues for missing 82-year-old man – Central Coast

Police will continue searching bushland on the Central Coast this morning after an 82-year-old man went missing from his Yarramalong property yesterday.

Patrick Ryan, who suffers dementia, left his home on Yarramalong Road about 5.30pm (Wednesday 26 February 2020), to go for a walk.

When he failed to return family reported him missing and a search was commenced by officers from Tuggerah Lakes Police District.

The search was assisted by POLAIR, Police Rescue, a Police Dog and State Emergency Service volunteers.

The search was suspended at 2am (Thursday 27 February 2020) without success.

Mr Ryan is described as being Caucasian in appearance with a thin build and grey hair. He was last seen wearing a striped polo shirt with denim jeans and a brown belt. He was carrying a black walking stick.

The search will resume at first light and police are calling for local property owners in the Yarramalong area to please check their properties this morning including any sheds or outhouses.
