Police have confirmed a stab wound to the chest of an unidentified man was the fatal blow, around 5:45am emergency services were called to the incident on Watt St upon arrival emergency services found a body slumped over in the middle of the street. Emergency services tried to revive the man but he died at the scene.
Police believe the man is a 27-year-old local resident and next kin have been informed but still waiting for formal identification.
Police would like to speak to anyone who seen or heard anything this morning.
