Sydney Mayor stabbed in volient home invasion.

The mayor of Hawkesbury City Council in the Sydney area was stabbed by six men during an invasion of his home just after midnight.

Patrick Conolly, 32, was stabbed in the upper left arm when the group forced their way into his Bligh Park home at 12.45am on Monday morning. His wife and four children were also at present.

Mr Conolly was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Westmead hospital.

Police investigation are ongoing.
