Teen Bitten by Brown Snake in Hunter River
Emegency Services responded to Hunter River in Aberdeen at 5:24 pm, with reports a 15-year-old boy who had been bitten by a brown snake while swimming in the river behind the public school.
NSW Ambulance teams stabilized the patient before firefighters used a stokes basket to safely transport him up the steep embankment. He was then rushed to the hospital for further treatment.
