Maitland councillors unanimously backed Deputy Mayor Mitchell Griffin’s motion to contact the Federal and State Governments to seek upgrades for the Thornton road network. This includes:
- Funding for the two roundabouts at Weakleys Drive and Thornton Road on Glenwood Drive.
- Funding for duplication of the Railway Bridge.
- Commence investigations in to potential route options for a Thornton Bypass between the New England Highway and Raymond Terrace Road.
