Van crashes into center barrier after serving to miss a Kangaroo

Emergency services responded to a single vehicle car crash around 3.30am Tuesday 6th December on Wangi Road near Summerhill Road.


A vehicle travelling north has collided with the centre wire barrier after reportedly swerving to miss a kangaroo.

Fire and Rescue crews from Wangi Wangi pump and tanker resonded to clean up a small spill and assisted with the removal of the vehicle from the wire barrier.

With the assistance of Police from Toronto and Morisset the road was cleared and reopened by 6am.

No one or Kangaroos were injured in the incident that has no doubtly written off this van.

A Fire and Rescue spokesperson from Wangi Wangi had this message as we head into the holiday period.

“A timely reminder leading into the holiday period that it is safer not to swerve to avoid wildlife.”
