48-year-old woman threatens police in an unmarked vehicle with a hammer – Cessnock

About 9:20am on Thursday 16th January 2020 Police from Hunter Valley Target Action Group where conducting patrols around Burnett Street, Cessnock.

While stationary, they observed a black Jeep panel van drive towards and past the unmarked police vehicle several times before pulling up and a 48-year-old female has spoken to the Police. She has walked back to her vehicle and retrieved a hammer before moving back towards Police in a threatening manner.

Police engaged the female and she has dropped the hammer and was arrested. Her vehicle was searched, and Police located a large knife in the vehicle. The female was taken to Cessnock Police station and charged with armed with intent and was bailed to attend Cessnock Court on the 19 February.
