NSW Police Employee Charged with Assault at Pokolbin Music Festival.

A civilian employee of the NSW Police Force has been charged with assault following an incident during the Red Hot Summer music festival in Pokolbin.

About 1.30pm on Saturday 15 February 2020, a 39-year-old woman was walking through a Pokolbin music festival with a friend when she was allegedly verbally abused by a woman she knew.

About 4.45pm, the same woman allegedly assaulted the 39-year-old woman causing bruising and swelling.

On Wednesday 19 February 2020, the injured woman made an official report of the incident.

Following investigations, officers from the Hunter Valley Police District yesterday (Thursday 5 March 2020) a 27-year-old woman was issued a Future Court Attendance Notice for the offence of common assault, and a Provisional Apprehended Violence Order has been applied for.

She is due to appear before Cessnock Local Court on Wednesday 15 April 2020.
