At 10.30pm Sunday 23/2 police stopped a red Mercedes in Picton Close Cessnock after the vehicle sped off from Alkira Avenue.
The 32-year-old Cessnock male driver then attempted to evade police by entering a front yard of a random home in Picton Close where he was detained by police.
Police found drugs discarded at the front of his car. He was arrested for being in Breach of Bail.
At the same time a 21yr old Cessnock female passenger who also exited the vehicle was detained and found to be in Breach of Bail.
Both persons were arrested and taken to Cessnock Police Station for further charging.
