How do you like them apples, sliced with plastic on the side?

Supermarkets are great at pretending that care about plastic if they can profit from it, they welcomed the ban single-use bags so they could charge you 15cents per bag, and it made them look like they cared about the plastic problems facing the world.

But you only have to walk around the supermarkets and you quickly notice just how much unnecessary plastic packaging there is.

Almost everything is wrapped in plastic and if it’s not there are plastic bags for you to place your fruit and veggies in.

Woolworths have come under fire this week for pre-packaged sliced apples, yes pre-sliced individual apple slices warped in plastic, then packed in more plastic.

If something does not require plastic than it should not be allowed plastic reforms are desperately needed in this country.

Woolworths have defended the use of plastic wraps saying it reduces overall waste at it stores but at what cost to the environment?

For those of you buying pre-cut apple slices have you forgotten how to use a knife? Or are you just that lazy?
