Man who escaped hotel quarantine found at Newcastle

Officers from South Sydney Police Area Command were alerted about 6PM on Friday, 7th August, after a man absconded from his hotel room in Mascot.

Police began searching for the man and tracked him to Central Railway Station where he has caught a train north.

He was tracked to Newcastle railway station where he was arrested and taken to Newcastle Police Station. He has been charged with not comply with noticed direction and fail to comply with public health order.

He was refused bail.
