Last nights lighting storms have sparked a number of new fires in nsw and around the Hunter with the largest fire to west of Howes Valley just north of Putty.
New fires burning out of control in or close to thr Hunter.

- Werong Creek
- Carters road, Stewart’s Brook
More storms are on the way tonight and the rural fire services is asking everyone to be viglent of new fires that may start.
Back burning operations have been suspended due to dangerous weather conditions.
