Police Crack Down on Barber Shop Crime Syndicate:
Today, in a coordinated effort across Maitland and Sydney, Raptor Squad officers arrested three individuals at a barber shop in the Green Hills Shopping Centre. This development comes as part of an ongoing investigation by Strike Force Stranraer targeting the illegal distribution of drugs and firearms in the area.
The suspects, a 42-year-old woman and two men aged 31 and 20, are believed to be involved in an organized crime syndicate. They were apprehended with significant evidence, including $200,000 in cash, a loaded firearm, and a fleet of high-end vehicles comprising a Porsche, Toyota Hilux, and BMW. Additionally, authorities seized nine kilograms of cannabis from their possession.
Although formal charges are pending, the trio is expected to face multiple counts related to weapons and drug offenses. They have been denied bail and taken to Maitland Police Station for further questioning.
Concurrent with the arrests, law enforcement executed raids at multiple locations including East Maitland, Maitland, Metford, Rutherford, West Ryde, Merrylands West, and Warwick Farm. The investigations under Strike Force Stranraer are currently ongoing.
