In a recent incident at Lake Macquarie, police are seeking public assistance following a home invasion on McEwan Street, Belmont South. Last night at approximately 10:30 pm (Sunday, January 28, 2024), a man forcibly entered a granny flat, leading to the assault of the 25-year-old resident. The victim managed to escape the flat only to encounter two additional assailants outside, resulting in further assault. The perpetrators stole a set of car keys before fleeing the scene. The injured resident received on-site medical attention from NSW Ambulance Paramedics for facial injuries and swelling.
