An 18-year-old man has been charged in connection with an incident where a skateboarder was struck by a vehicle in a park near Newcastle. The incident occurred around 9 PM on Friday, 21 June 2024, at Greenslope Street, Bar Beach. Police responded to reports that a man had been hit by a utility vehicle which then allegedly fled the scene. The victim, a 54-year-old skateboarder, received immediate treatment from NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene before being transported to John Hunter Hospital in stable condition.
