In a shocking early morning incident, 200 sheep were killed in a catastrophic truck fire on the Mitchell Highway near Girilambone, north of Nyngan. Emergency services were called to the scene around 12:50 am today (Saturday, 7 September 2024) after reports of a road train engulfed in flames. Responding officers from the Central North Police District found the truck ablaze, with NSW Fire & Rescue crews battling to extinguish the fire.
