
Man Charged Over Alleged Drug and Driving Offences in Newcastle
A 22-year-old man has been charged with multiple offences following an investigation by Newcastle City Highway Patrol. Police were called to Violet Town Road, Tingira Heights, around 7:20 pm on Tuesday, 4 February, after reports that a Ford Ranger had crashed into a fence. When officers arrived, the driver allegedly reversed, striking a police officer with the vehicleβs side mirror before fleeing the scene. The officer sustained bruising. Following inquiries, police stopped a Volkswagen Golf in Perkins Street, Newcastle, around 2:15 pm on Monday, 17 February.
