Lower Hunter fire control have just commenced an ariel backburn in the Lower Hunter near Bulga and Milbrodale. The proposal is for aerial ignition of strategic ridge tops using a small amount of fire to the area north of Milbrodale and south west of Bulga. The forecast wind is from the southeast for the next three days from today. This burn is essential to protect the areas of Milbrodale and Bulga of over 300 properties before the next onset of elevated fire weather predicted for Saturday 4th January.
