A Cessnock man has been charged after allegedly displaying a Nazi symbol in a public place, sparking swift police action in the Hunter region. Officers from the Hunter Valley Police District launched an investigation on Saturday, 31 January 2026, after reports that a Nazi symbol had been displayed on a council-issued bin in Cessnock. Following inquiries, a 44-year-old man was today (Thursday, 5 February 2026) issued with a Future Court Attendance Notice, charged with knowingly displaying a Nazi symbol by public act without reasonable excuse.
