Cessnock City Council Secures $671,879 in Black Spot Program Funding for Safer Roads
Cessnock City Council has successfully secured $671,879 in funding from the Australian Government’s Black Spot Program to enhance road safety in Mount Vincent. The funding will be used to implement various safety measures on Sandy Creek Road, including motorcycle underrun barriers, retro-reflective pavement markers, profile linemarking, guideposts, incremental traversable clear zones, and improved signage.
The Black Spot Program focuses on funding safety improvements at locations with a history of serious crashes or those at risk of such incidents. This initiative aims to reduce the likelihood of accidents and enhance the overall safety of the community.
Mayor Jay Suvaal expressed his gratitude to Dan Repacholi MP for his support in securing this essential funding for the Cessnock community.
