A 21-year-old man is due to appear in Raymond Terrace Local Court today, following a series of reckless driving incidents that culminated in a crash outside Raymond Terrace Police Station. Authorities report that the driver was involved in two separate dangerous driving incidents within minutes of each other, raising concerns over road safety.
The first incident reportedly occurred around 8:30 am on Thursday, 31 October 2024, on Nelson Bay Road in Fern Bay, where witnesses claim the young man was driving recklessly, prompting alarm among other motorists. Soon after, at around 8:45 am, a second incident took place outside the Raymond Terrace Police Station. According to police statements, the man allegedly lost control of his vehicle, which then collided with a parked police car stationed outside the building.
