Bolton Point, NSW – A shocking cannabis operation has been busted in Bolton Point, with police seizing hundreds of plants and a significant stash of dried cannabis.
Around 11:45 AM yesterday, officers from the Lake Macquarie Police District stormed a property on Karina Place armed with a search warrant. What they found inside was a drug-growing setup of staggering proportions.
Police uncovered 257 cannabis plants, ranging in height from 30cm to a towering 2 metres, alongside 1.3kg of dried cannabis leaf neatly packed in resealable bags. The alleged mastermind behind the operation, a 29-year-old man, was arrested on the spot.
He was hauled to Belmont Police Station and slapped with several serious charges, including:
- Cultivating a large commercial quantity of cannabis
- Illegally diverting electricity to power his operation
- Supplying cannabis in commercial quantities
The man’s attempt to dodge the law fell flat, with bail refused. He’s set to face the music today in Belmont Local Court.
