A 27-year-old man is set to appear in court today following an alleged machete attack on his former partner in Morisset on Friday night. The incident occurred around 7 PM on September 6, 2024, when the man reportedly broke into a Bridge Street residence and threatened to kill his ex-partner while wielding a machete.
The suspect fled the scene after the victim contacted police but was apprehended shortly after by officers from the Lake Macquarie Police District at a different location in Morisset.
The man has been charged with multiple offenses, including breaching an apprehended violence order (AVO), aggravated break and enter, two counts of intimidation, and being armed with intent. He has been denied bail and will appear in Toronto Local Court today, September 9, 2024.
