A 38-year-old man is set to face court today, charged with murder after a two-year investigation into the 2022 death of a toddler in Coffs Harbour.
Emergency services responded to a Coffs Harbour home at 8 AM on Monday, May 23, 2022, after reports of an unresponsive two-year-old boy. The child was transported in critical condition to Coffs Harbour Health Campus, then airlifted to John Hunter Hospital. He passed away two days later on May 25.
The incident sparked an investigation by Strike Force Kielwarra, formed by detectives from the Coffs/Clarence Police District to examine the circumstances surrounding the boy’s death.
Yesterday, October 29, 2024, the suspect was arrested at Bankstown Police Station and charged with murder. He was refused bail and appeared in Bankstown Local Court today. He will next appear in Coffs Harbour Local Court on November 6, 2024.
