Parts of the Hunter, including Cooranbong, Morisset, and Dora Creek, are experiencing significant communication issues due to a Telstra mobile phone outage. The disruption has left many residents and businesses without reliable mobile service, sparking frustration across the region.
Federal Member for Hunter, Dan Repacholi, has addressed the issue, expressing his dissatisfaction with Telstra’s handling of the outage.
“I’ve been made aware of yet another Telstra mobile phone outage impacting parts of Cooranbong, Morisset, and Dora Creek,” Repacholi stated. “I have reached out to Telstra, who once again have failed to inform me or give me a heads-up about the issue, to get some details of exactly what the issue is, when they expect the issue to be fixed, and what they are doing to compensate customers and businesses impacted.”
Repacholi thanked local residents for bringing the matter to his attention late yesterday and assured them he would continue to seek answers from Telstra.
The cause of the outage remains unclear, and Telstra has yet to provide an official statement on when services will be restored or how affected customers will be compensated.
