An early morning armed robbery at a Newcastle club has left workers shaken, with police now investigating the incident.
Around 5:00 AM, emergency services were called to a club on Boreus Road, Hamilton North, following reports of an armed robbery.
Police from Newcastle City Police District were informed that two men, dressed in black and armed with knives, entered the club at approximately 4:00 AM. The intruders assaulted a 40-year-old staff member before making off with cash and electronic items.
The injured staff member was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and transported to the hospital for further care.
A crime scene has been established as authorities work to identify and apprehend the offenders. The investigation is ongoing.
