Fatal Shooting and Car Fire in Parramatta: Police Investigate Possible Connection
Police have launched an investigation following the fatal shooting of a man in Parramatta early this morning.
Just after 3:30 AM, emergency services responded to reports of a shooting on Harold Street. NSW Ambulance paramedics attempted to treat the victim, a man believed to be 29 years old, but he tragically died at the scene. The man has not yet been formally identified.
Parramatta Police Area Command has established a crime scene, with forensic specialists examining the area for evidence.
Approximately 15 minutes later, at around 3:45 AM, emergency services were called to Abeckett Street in Granville, where a stolen sedan was found engulfed in flames. Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command, along with Fire and Rescue NSW, attended the scene and extinguished the blaze.
Police have set up a second crime scene in Granville and are investigating the incident. Witnesses reported seeing two men fleeing the area in another vehicle. Authorities are treating the fire as suspicious, though it remains unclear whether the shooting and the car fire are connected.
