A tragic incident occurred in the early hours of this morning in Moama, near the NSW-Victoria border, where a 63-year-old woman was killed after a tree fell on a cabin.
Emergency services were called to Merold Road around 3:50 a.m. (Monday, 2 September 2024). Officers from the Murray River Police District responded to the scene and discovered the woman’s body in the wreckage. She has yet to be formally identified.
A 63-year-old man, also at the scene, sustained injuries to his right hand. He was treated by Victorian Ambulance paramedics and transported to Echuca Hospital for further care.
Authorities are preparing a report for the Coroner.
