Breaking News: 60-Year-Old Woman Charged with Firearm and Drug Offences in Dora Creek
A 60-year-old woman has been charged with multiple firearm and drug offences following a police raid at a Dora Creek residence yesterday morning.
Around 8:30 AM on Wednesday, 11 September 2024, officers from the Lake Macquarie Police District executed a search warrant at a home on Dora Street. During the search, police allegedly discovered a double-barrel shotgun, an air rifle, ammunition, cannabis, and firecrackers.
The woman was arrested and taken to Toronto Police Station, where she was charged with several offences, including:
- Supplying cannabis
- Failing to surrender a firearm as an unauthorised person
- Two counts of failing to keep a firearm safely
- Possessing an unauthorised firearm
- Possessing ammunition
- Handling explosives without the proper licence
She was refused bail and appeared before Toronto Local Court, where she was granted conditional bail. Her next court appearance is scheduled for 1 October 2024.
