A 47-year-old man has been charged following the seizure of almost 1.4 kilograms of methamphetamine during a police operation in Lake Macquarie.

The investigation, conducted under Strike Force Prazz by the Hunter Region Enforcement Squad, targeted alleged drug supply activities across the region.

Police executed a search warrant at a storage unit in Bennetts Green on Thursday, 18 June, where officers allegedly discovered and seized almost 1.4kg of methamphetamine. Police estimate the drugs had a potential street value of approximately $200,000.

Following further investigations, officers attended a home at Belmont North about 9.15am on Monday, 22 June, where a 47-year-old man was arrested.

He was taken to Belmont Police Station and charged with supplying a prohibited drug in a quantity greater than a large commercial quantity.

The man was refused bail and was scheduled to appear before Bail Division Court 2 today (Tuesday, 23 June 2026).
