A 22-year-old man has been fined and had his licence suspended after being caught driving more than 60km/h over the speed limit in Lake Macquarie early this morning.
About 4:35am on Thursday, 30 October 2025, officers from Traffic and Highway Patrol Command – Lake Macquarie Sector were conducting speed enforcement on Newcastle Link Road at Cameron Park as part of Operation Shore Safe.
Police detected a white Holden Commodore utility travelling at 142km/h in an 80km/h zone.
The driver, a 22-year-old man, was issued a $3054 fine for exceeding the speed limit by more than 45km/h and had his licence immediately suspended for six months.
