A man has been charged following a major fraud investigation in the Hunter Valley, with police alleging millions of dollars were obtained through deception.
In 2024, detectives from the Hunter Valley Police District launched Strike Force Noolinga, working alongside the State Crime Command’s Forensic Accounting Unit, to investigate reports of suspected fraudulent activity linked to a 34-year-old man.
Police will allege the man used a business to fraudulently secure more than $7 million in investments over a five-month period between February and June 2022.
The man was arrested on Thursday (March 19, 2026) at Muswellbrook Police Station and charged with eight counts of dishonestly obtaining a financial advantage by deception.
He was refused bail and appeared before Bail Division Court 2 the same day.
Investigations under Strike Force Noolinga remain ongoing.
