All Ways Healthcare clinics in Cessnock and Kurri Kurri are excited to announce that, effective 1 September 2025, they have transitioned to 100% bulk billing for all patients. This means no out-of-pocket expenses for eligible patients at the time of consultation.

What This Means for You

Under the bulk billing system, the Australian Government directly pays the medical practice for the services provided, eliminating the need for patients to pay upfront. To ensure you receive this benefit, please bring your valid Medicare card to your appointment.

Medicare Rebate Overview

As of 1 November 2025, the Medicare rebate for a standard GP consultation in metropolitan areas is $69.56, up from the previous $42.85. In regional and rural areas, the rebate can be as high as $86.91, depending on location. These increases are part of the government’s $8.5 billion investment to expand bulk billing and reduce out-of-pocket costs for patients (Priority Advisory Group).
