According to multiple eyewitnesses on social media, the motorcyclist was seen travelling at high speed — estimated around 100 km/h — and ran a red light near the Highfields water tank before crashing near the intersection of Ridley Street.
“Motorbike was going about 100km, police were not right behind him… ran through the red light,” one witness, reported on Facebook.
Another user, Anonymous Member 947, described the crash in graphic detail:
“The motorcyclist was speeding southbound on the highway with a police car in pursuit. He didn’t make the turn and ended up crashing in the northbound lanes at the lights at Ridley Street. Unfortunately, he lost his life.”
A live map screenshot from 8:16 PM shows heavy police presence and full road closures near the crash site, with traffic diversions in place. Multiple police and emergency vehicles were reported at the scene, and traffic is being redirected through surrounding streets.

Other social media users described the scene as distressing, with reports that some onlookers were filming the incident while the rider lay unresponsive on the roadway.
“Looked like a terrible scene when police directed us past,” said another witness, Sally KF.
“Probably hit that bit of tarmac on that bend and threw him off… RIP Evil,” added a user named Doug Overend.
At this stage, NSW Police have not released an official statement on the incident or confirmed whether a formal pursuit was in progress. The identity of the rider has not been confirmed.
Motorists are urged to avoid the area as the investigation continues and the scene remains sealed off.
