A house has been completely destroyed by fire in Fletcher after a blaze tore through a home in Redwood Close late this morning.
Fire and Rescue NSW crews were called to the scene about 10:40am on Sunday, 19 January, following reports of a house fire rapidly taking hold.
The fire is believed to have started as a result of a misadventure involving a lighter. The occupants managed to escape the property safely before the flames intensified, and no injuries have been reported.
Despite swift action by firefighters, the blaze spread quickly and the home was fully engulfed, leaving it a total loss.
Authorities say the incident is a stark reminder of how fast a small ignition can turn into a devastating fire, urging residents to ensure smoke alarms are working and fire safety plans are in place.
Fire and Rescue NSW has thanked all responding crews and supporting agencies for their efforts at the scene.
