Dozens of firefighters are battling a large blaze at a self-storage complex in Cardiff this morning.
Emergency services were called to Kennards Self Storage on Pendlebury Road just after 2:30am on Friday, October 17, 2025, where a fire had broken out on the second level of the two-storey building.
First-arriving crews called for urgent reinforcements as the blaze rapidly spread to four storage units.
According to Newcastle Fire Command, around 50 firefighters are on the scene, including aerial, HAZMAT, and support crews. Police and paramedics are also in attendance, and Pendlebury Road remains closed to traffic.
The fire took around 90 minutes to bring under control, but firefighters are still working to fully extinguish the blaze.
Authorities say the operation has been made more challenging due to lithium-ion batteries stored inside the units, which have caused the fire to reignite multiple times.
